Kathmandu. Kathmandu: Metropolitan Transport is going to issue ordinary shares (IPO).
Metropolitan Transport Executive Chairman Santosh Khatiwada said that preparations are being made to issue the IPO soon. He said that the IPO is being issued for the general public as metropolitan transport belongs to the general public. He informed that the investment of all the founding shareholders is safe.
Kathmandu Metropolitan City Transport has brought into operation 12 electric buses today. The cost of one bus is Rs 1.27 crore. Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal said environment-friendly transportation was the need of the hour.
He also informed that Nepal is lagging far behind in the field of infrastructure and a lot of work has been done in road infrastructure in the recent past. He said that many highways are being constructed from east to west.
He said that although the transport sector has been developed, it should be managed. Minister Dahal shared that the road construction work is being carried out in Nepal by maintaining world-class quality.
