Myagdi. Irrigation facility has been extended to 52 hectares of land through the projects implemented by the Drinking Water, Water Resources and Irrigation Development Division Office in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS.
Similarly, irrigation facilities have been upgraded in 70 hectares of land. According to Division Chief Jhalak Mohan Ojha, irrigation facilities have been expanded and upgraded by constructing six kilometers of paved canal, 6.11 kilometers of pipeline expansion, five dams and 47 irrigation structures.
A budget of Rs 48.34 million has been allocated for 22 irrigation projects, out of which 21 projects have been implemented. Of the total allocation for irrigation, 91.31 per cent or Rs 44.14 million has been spent.
Similarly, a 40-metre concrete wall and a 250-metre gabion wall have been constructed in six places prone to flood and erosion. Efforts have also been made to prevent landslides by constructing gabion at Raghuganga-1, Begma Beg.
A total of 110 families have benefited from the river and landslide control scheme and 2.5 hectares of land has been improved. Of the Rs 15.05 million allocated for the river control project, Rs 14.769 million has been spent, ojha said.
