Walling. The number of industries and shops in the district is decreasing day by day. Industrialists and businessmen have started cancelling the registration of shops, saying it is difficult to operate industries and businesses.

Narayan Prasad Dhakal, chief of the Tourism and Industry Office, said that the number of new industries registered at the Tourism and Industry Office in the fiscal year 2081/82 bs was more than the number of new industries registered.

According to him, 177 new industries were registered in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS, out of which 263 were scrapped. In the commerce sector, 142 new registrations were registered in the same fiscal year, out of which 197 registrations have been cancelled. In the fiscal year 2080/81, 250 new industries were registered. In the same fiscal year, the registration of 226 companies was canceled.

According to him, 185 new registrations have been registered in the commerce sector, while the registration of 234 has been cancelled. It is said that the number of applications for cancellation of industry and business registration has increased in recent years as the business has decreased compared to the past.

Most of them are agriculture and animal husbandry farms, eateries, restaurants, industries of Kutanipisani and fancy shops. It has also been seen that the farm will be operated to get the grant and the farm will be closed after taking the grant.

President of Waling Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chet Narayan Shrestha said that the cancellation of registration of industries and businesses is not a good sign from the point of view of the economy. He said that due to the economic slowdown seen in the country in the recent past, there may have been an increase in the cancellation due to difficulties in industry and trade business.

In the fiscal year 2081/82 BS, the Tourism and Industry Office had collected Rs 5,555,770 from various heads. The revenue collected in the fiscal year 2081/82 was Rs 2.2 million more than in the fiscal year 2080/81. According to the office, the revenue has increased in the last fiscal year with the introduction of a rule that allows renewal of files beyond one year by paying fine.
