We made a lot of speeches, now the time has come to do real work: Energy Minister Khadka

Kathmandu. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka has said the time has come to show results not only by making speeches but also by working quickly and effectively as per the expectations of the people.

Speaking at a special function organized on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the Department of Power Development, Minister Khadka said, “We have made a lot of speeches, now is the time to really work. If policies and regulations have stalled work, we need to improve them and move forward. Energy is no longer just a medium to give light, it is linked to the prosperity of the country. ’

Stating that the government’s goal is to ensure that electricity reaches every stove across the country, Minister Khadka opined, “The need for energy is not a matter of stopping, let us not delay, let us move ahead at a fast pace by taking necessary decisions immediately.”

Stating that the priority of the present government is to ensure the prosperity of the country on the basis of partnership, Minister Khadka said, “Energy can become the main source of trade and prosperity if we can utilize what we have.” ’

“We have entered the era of artificial intelligence, energy is essential to run this era. Therefore, we should pay special attention not only to production but also to broadcasting and distribution. ’

Energy Minister Khadka gave a clear indication that the policy and rules would be reviewed to remove land acquisition, transmission line expansion and structural hurdles. Appreciating the contribution of the private sector, he said, “Stability and effectiveness will come only through the collaboration between the government and the private sector.” ’

Thanking the private and government parties for their contribution by producing 432 MW hydropower and 35 MW solar power this year, Minister Khadka said, “The prosperity of the country is not the responsibility of the government or the minister alone, it is a common effort.” Therefore, all levels and sections should fulfill their responsibilities. ’
