In 2054 BS, Nil Bahadur Saru Magar had reached Tansen, the district headquarters, with the dream of becoming a doctor after passing slc in first class from Jana bikas Secondary School in Rampur, Palpa. This was his second trip to Tansen. After passing slc for the first time and passing slc for the second time.
Although most of the villagers were lahuras, his family depended on agriculture. Saru’s grandfather used to say that if he could serve as a doctor instead of becoming a lahure, he would get both honor and virtue. Dream of grandfather’s advice to become a doctor
He came to Tansen to study science.
“I had to pass the entrance exam to study science at Tribhuvan Multipurpose Campus in Tansen, but my first attempt failed,” saru said. Bijay Raj Ghimire, a villager, had thought that Saru should become a CA after studying the faculty of management from science.
Ghimire was a Chartered Accountant (CA) by profession as well as active in Nepali Congress politics. He had good respect in the village. At that time CA Ghimire was a source of inspiration for the youth of the village
। “We used to idolise him a lot of people, we had heard that the subject he studied would be difficult, following his footsteps, I planned to study CA through ICom, BBS,” Saru told InvestmentNews.
Ghimire has left this world when he became the chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN), a regulatory body of accounting businesses.
The family did not interfere with Saru’s decision to become a doctor-turned-CA. He continued to read the subject of his interest. After completing his ICom in Tansen, he came to Kathmandu to study BBS and joined Shankardev Campus. Along with studying BBS in the campus, he also did student politics. As the study was completed, the desire to study CA became stronger. I also had the opportunity to learn a lot about it. Along with his friends, he also searched for an institution to study CA in Kathmandu. In the meantime, he went to Delhi in 2060 BS after knowing that there was a good education in Delhi, the capital of India.

Since childhood, Saru did not have any problem in Delhi. Focusing only on studies made it easier to achieve the goal. He completed intermediate in nine months and completed the remaining CA course in the next two years. “At that time, I was one of the few students to pass without failing in any subject, I was hoping that I would be in the top 10 of India, but i could not make it to that list with a small number. However, his success while studying CA was not an ordinary one.
After completing his CA, he wanted to come to Nepal and do something new. But the situation became such that even in Delhi, the opportunity confused Saru. Saru, who passed with good marks, started getting offers from various companies.
He also applied for a job in ICICI and Standard Chartered Bank. ICICI Bank had given an offer letter, along with Standard Chartered Bank, he started working in it after giving attractive salary and post.
He worked at Standard Chartered for almost a year. By then, the idea that he should go to Nepal and do something had become stronger.
“It was the time of 2008, there was an economic recession in the world, it was not easy to leave a good job in such a situation, the colleagues of the bank also suggested not to leave the job but to take transfer to Nepal,” he said. ”
At that time, Saru had the idea of doing new work in Nepal himself and being equally active in social service. Therefore, it was not easy to fulfill the purpose by working in the bank. Saru, along with his friends, registered the CA firm in July 2009 and the work started. Initially, Saru and Binod started together, but two months later, durga Gyawali, who was studying CA in Delhi, also returned to the team. Other members were also added.
Saru was as active in studies as he was interested in politics. When he was in class 9÷10, he had started his political consciousness. Later, it continued in Shankardev Campus and after going to Delhi, he became inactive from politics.

When he started working professionally as a Chartered Accountant in Nepal, he also became active in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN). In 2014, he also contested for the post of council member. But he did not succeed by a small margin. However, in the current working committee, he has been elected as vice-president.
“I have been active in ICAN with the realization that I should be active to solve the problems seen in our area and to address the needs, now my role will move forward as chairman,” he said. He will serve as the president of ICANN for the next one year.
In Saru’s words, the task is to build confidence in the world’s economic world. Ca’s audit has created financial credibility. Large investments are made based on reports prepared by CA
। Therefore, he plans to work in a planned manner as chairman to further strengthen this trust.
“In the context of Nepal, the number of CAs has been low since the beginning, so there is still a situation to approach foreign organizations to do big work, now we can do that work from within Nepal and we will also have to give a message that we are capable,” he said. ”
Apart from this, it is necessary to inform the stakeholders about the work and nature of CA. For this, ICAN has planned to conduct an awareness campaign, he said. Saru also plans to effectively carry out several capacity building works from making guidance guidelines for the members. At present, the same level of work is being done at the foundation level in collaboration with the UK organization.
“If we will make the selection and action being taken by ICAN more effective, then there is a plan to move the members forward in such a way that there is no mistake as much as possible,” he said.
