Kathmandu. The Social Security Fund has distributed the amount of interest on the amount deposited in the old age protection scheme of the contributor in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS.

Information Officer Dr Roshan Koju informed that the fund has distributed interest of Rs 2.84 billion to the accounts of 2,379,585 contributors under the scheme.

The fund has paid 5.5 percent interest on the amount deposited in the old age protection scheme in the last fiscal year and 5 percent from March 1to Mid-June.

A total of 2,390,141 contributors including 603,426 in the formal sector, 1,785,573 in foreign employment, 720 in informal and 422 in self-employment have been enlisted in the fund so far.

A contribution of Rs 86.86 billion has been collected to the fund. The fund has paid Rs 15.77 billion to the contributors under various facilities. The Fund has been running drug treatment, health and motherhood, accident and disability, dependent families and elderly condition protection schemes.
