Urban Development Ministry’s financial progress is only 58.6 percent

Kathmandu. The Ministry of Urban Development has achieved 58.6 percent progress in the implementation of the programs mentioned in the budget in the last fiscal year 2081/82 BS.

At a press conference organized by the Ministry, Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Mainali informed about the major works carried out by the Ministry of Urban Development in policy, legal, institutional reforms and infrastructure sector during the last one year.

According to Spokesperson Mainali, a budget of Rs 68.14 billion has been allocated to the ministry in the current fiscal year, out of which Rs 39.56 billion has been spent on financial progress.

During the period, 97 health buildings, five assembly halls, 21 government offices, 55 local level administrative buildings, 97 school buildings, 32 parks, 13 bus parks, 57 public buildings, 2.9 kilometers of embankments, 22 local road bridges, 296 kilometers of drains and 278 suspension bridges have been constructed.

According to Spokesperson Mainali, Nepal’s longest Triveni Susta Multi-seventh Suspension Bridge, which is strategically important for improving access, has come into operation. Similarly, 278 km of rural roads have been blacktopped and 618 km of urban roads have been blacktopped.

It is informed that the construction of parapet and floodlight under the international level TRIBHUVAN University Cricket Stadium has reached the final stage and irrigation facilities have been extended to 4,747 hectares. So far, 11,000 safe civilian houses have been constructed.

According to the Ministry, the construction of one crematorium has been completed in this fiscal year while three more are under construction and dharahara, basement parking and garden built in dharahara premises have been opened for the general public.

According to the Ministry, the process of reconstruction of 23 buildings of government buildings and health institutions damaged by the earthquake in Jajarkot and Rukum East has started.

Similarly, Chitwan Sauraha Assembly Hall has been opened and Damak Commercial Complex has been opened for the general public.
