Kathmandu. The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBI) has decided to reduce the existing fund management fee and registration and issue fee of Private Equity and Ventures Capital (PEVC) by 50 percent.

Unveiling the policy and programme for the current fiscal year on Tuesday, SEBON has decided to reduce the existing fund management fee and registration and issue fee.

Similarly, the board has also decided to amend the regulations related to specialized investment funds to increase foreign investment in private equity and venture capitals. The board also plans to establish effective coordination between SEBON, NEPSE and the Office of the Registrar of Companies to make arrangements for private equity and venture capitals to easily sell the shares in the investment after the expiry of the investment period and take back the investment.

The board’s strategy is to increase the lock-in period of securities owned by private equity and venture capitals from the current one year to two years from the date of allotment.
