Jhapa. A suspension bridge has been constructed at a cost of Rs 43.8 million across the Ninda River at Jamirgadhi of Mechinagar-15.
Constructed by the Ministry of Urban Development, the bridge is 350 meters long and five feet wide. The bridge connects Vicharni Bazaar with Heldubari. In the absence of a bridge at the site, the residents of Jamirgadhi had to travel more than five kilometers in the rainy season to travel to Vichani-Heldubari for years.
Mechinagar Municipality and Thani Construction Pvt. Ltd. Kathmandu had signed a contract for the construction of the bridge on July 15, 2018.
