Birgunj. In the last fiscal year, 68,743 vehicles entered birgunj. Deepak Lamichhane, chief customs administrator at Birgunj Customs Office, said 68,743 vehicles, ranging from fuel-powered on-assembled motorcycles to cranalhari, were imported during the period.

Similarly, 912 fuel-powered jeeps, cars and vans worth Rs 2.01 billion were imported during the same period. A total of 5,735 tractors and trailers worth Rs 1.37 billion were imported in the last fiscal year.

In the same period, 417 fuel-powered buses worth Rs 1.11 billion have arrived here. In the same period, 139 concrete mixtures worth Rs 710 million were imported while 312 trucks and mini-trucks worth Rs 740 million were imported.

Similarly, 4,646 motorcycles worth Rs 433.1 million were imported in the same period. A total of 2,337 small and big electric vehicles worth Rs 1.64 billion were imported through Birgunj border point in the last fiscal year. Birgunj Customs had collected Rs 1.80 billion in revenue from the import of electric vehicles last year.
