Rs 2 million revenue from herbs in Gorkha

Gorkha. In the last fiscal year, Rs 2 million 16 thousand 404 revenue has been deposited in Gorkha from the collection of herbs. Division Forest Office and Manaslu Conservation Area Project received the amount from 46,974 kg of herbs collected and exported in various rural municipalities in the last fiscal year.

According to the Project Office, 11,392 kg of herbs have been collected and exported in manaslu area alone. The project has collected rs 1,270,419 in revenue. Office chief Santosh Sherchan said rs 1,089,890 revenue was collected from 34.19 kg yarsagumba in the last fiscal year.

Revenue has been collected from herbs like Bukiphool, Padamchal, Ratochau, Nirmasi, Tukiphool, Timur, Dhupi, Sunpati, Setakchini, Rose, Jimbu and Chiraito in Manaslu area.

According to the Division Forest Office, revenue of Rs 745,985 was collected from 35,582 kg of herbs collected from forest areas other than Manaslu area in the last fiscal year. The office collected the highest amount of Rs 356,250 from Jatamsi.
