Finance ministry-wise discussion on budget implementation begins, shift industrial areas out of Valley to control pollution

Kathmandu. Kathmandu: The Ministry of Finance has initiated ministerial discussions on the implementation of the budget for the fiscal year 2082/83 BS.

The Ministry held discussions with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies today. In the discussion, it was discussed to protect the traditional skills, arts and professions of the Dalit community and to create employment and income generation opportunities, under the Bhagat Sarbajit Entrepreneurship Program Development Program, along with the transfer and training of modern technology, the goods produced would be linked to the market.

Similarly, discussions were held to control pollution in the capital by shifting the industries operating in the Kathmandu Valley to the industrial areas outside the Valley and to give special concessions to the industries to be relocated.

Discussions were also held on establishing an international standard quality laboratory in Nepal to be recognized by the international community including India, China, construction of modern industrial zone at Jhapa, Mayurdhap of Makawanpur and Shaktikhor of Chitwan.

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari, Finance Secretary Ghanshyam Upadhyay, Revenue Secretary Dinesh Kumar Ghimire and Industry Secretary Dr Dipu Moni were present in the meeting. Ram Prasad Ghimire and others were present.

The Ministry of Finance is scheduled to hold discussions with the concerned ministries and departments respectively to implement the budget for the fiscal year 2082/83 BS.
