Insurance Authority extends reinsurance broker’s branch by three months

Kathmandu. Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) has extended the time for reinsurance brokers (brokers) to open branches.

TAG_OPEN_div_14 The Authority has extended the opening of branches by three months by amending the Insurer’s Reinsurance Guidelines-2080.

Authority has extended the time to open branches by making the first amendment to the directive.

TAG_OPEN_div_10 The guideline states, “The reinsurance broker who receives the listing number from the AUTHORITY must establish a branch and liaison office or a joint investment office by mid-January 2082 BS.” ’

TAG_OPEN_div_8 According to the AUTHORITY, earlier the reinsurance broker had to open a branch office within six months. Now the provision has been amended and the time has been extended by three months.
