Myagdi. Myagdi: The Water Supply, Water Resources and Irrigation Development Division Office, Myagdi has implemented 69 projects related to drinking water, irrigation, river control and energy in the last fiscal year 2081/82 BS.
A total of Rs 139.98 million has been allocated, out of which Rs 131.99 million has been spent, according to the office. Division Chief Jhalak Mohan Ojha said that 64 out of 67 schemes related to drinking water, irrigation, river control and energy have been implemented and five projects of federal conditionality have been implemented.
There were 26 resource-guaranteed projects, 28 successive and 18 salbasali schemes. Seventeen projects for drinking water, six for irrigation and river control÷ six for energy and study survey have been completed.
Of the 1,283 taps constructed under the drinking water scheme operated by the division, drinking water has been distributed by installing meters in 931 taps. A total of 3,119 meters main, 106 kilometers branch pipeline, 22 reserve tanks with a capacity of 4,072 cubic meters and 277 other structures have been constructed.
Irrigation facilities have been extended to 52 hectares of land and upgraded to 70 hectares. Six kilometers of paved canal, 6.11 kilometers of pipeline expansion, five dams and 47 irrigation structures have been constructed.
A 40-meter concrete wall and a 250-meter gabion wall have been constructed through six different projects that are prone to flood and erosion through the river control plan. Landslide prevention has been done by constructing 300 gabion walls at Raghuganga-1 Begma Beg.
Ojha said 110 households have benefited from the river and landslide control scheme and 2.5 hectares of land has been developed. Similarly, solar energy installed in 114 houses has been repaired.
