Dubai and Russia’s trade rises after Russia-Ukraine war, plans to double in 5 years

Kathmandu. United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday. This is Dubai President Nahyan’s second visit to Russia in a year. Other countries have seen this as a sign of growing relations between the two countries.

According to Mohammed bin Zayed, trade between Russia and Dubai reached $ 11.5 billion in 2025. He said that there is a plan to double this limit within five years. The United Arab Emirates has long been considered a close ally of the United States and a major military and intelligence partner.  It is also russia’s most important economic partner in the Middle East.  Russia and the United Arab Emirates signed a strategic partnership agreement in 2018. Since then, top leaders of the two countries have exchanged visits several times, according to international media reports.
