Kathmandu. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka has said that the rumor of load shedding across the country is meaningless and the process of improving the government’s energy supply is progressing at a fast pace.
Replying to the oral questions of lawmakers in the Meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Minister Khadka said that electricity supply was going smoothly in most places except some parts of the country. “We have accelerated the reforms and continued power generation. Therefore, I submit that the issue of load shedding is meaningless,” said Minister Khadka.
Minister Khadka shared that the government has accelerated the supply and expansion of electricity and electricity worth Rs 17.72 billion is being exported at present. Besides, hydropower worth Rs 12.92 billion is being imported, he added.
“We are making a profit of Rs 5 billion in terms of export and import of electricity. Although electricity is yet to be supplied to some areas across the country, the supply continues in those places as well,” minister Khadka added.
Minister Khadka has pledged to continue the reforms being carried out by the government in the energy sector and move ahead in a way that assures all the citizens.
