Electricity expansion of central transmission line in Pakhapani and Patlekhet of Myagdi

Myagdi. Electricity from the central transmission line has been extended to Pakhapani and Patlekhet of Raghuganga rural municipality-7, Chimkhola. The central line has been extended from Chimkhola to Pakhapani and Patlekhet villages under the ‘Ujjal Myagdi’ programme run by the Nepal Electricity Authority( NEA).

Prakash Jha, information officer at beni distribution centre of Nepal Electricity Authority( NEA), said that the test conducted on Saturday was successful after the installation of poles of the main, branch line, pulling of wire and installation of transformer of 100 KVA capacity.

Stating that the electrification work would be completed after the installation of meters in the houses of the consumers, he said that 100 families in Patlekhet and Pakhapani would be benefited from it. The central line has already reached Chimkhola and Namila tole.

The residents of the area were currently using micro-hydropower projects and solar energy for lighting. Dinesh Dhungana, the operator of the contractor company New Dhungana Construction Service, said that the electrification work has been completed even when the adverse weather of the rainy season, road and transportation have been disrupted.

NeA has been implementing a project worth Rs 220 million since the fiscal year 2080/81 bs to expand the electricity facility of the national transmission line to 2,183 households in 14 places of Myagdi.

Information Officer Jha informed that 600 houses of Malika Rural Municipality-1 Niskot, Malika-2 Rum, Malika-3 Dadagaun, Patle, Malika-4 Okharbot, 150 houses of Malampar of Dhailagiri Rural Municipality, 45 houses of Bull and 130 houses of Chiuribot have been electrified through the project.

Though the power line has reached Lulang of Dhaulagiri rural municipality, the consumers are yet to install the meter box, he said. “The electrification work at Malkwang in Dhaulagiri has reached the final stage.

Through this contract, central electricity is being extended to settlements other than Gurja of Dhaulagiri-1. There is also a plan to provide central electricity facility to Mohredanda, a tourist destination in Annapurna rural municipality-8,” he said.
