Stock market plunges by double digits, transaction volume rises

Kathmandu. On the first trading day of the week, the stock market fell by double digits on Sunday. On Sunday, the NEPSE index fell by 27.14 points to 2761.22 points. Similarly, the Sensex fell 5.15 points, the Float Index 1.74 points and the Sensitive Float Index 1.55 points.

However, the transaction amount has increased compared to Thursday on Sunday. Shares worth Rs 7.73 billion were traded on Sunday. On the previous trading day, shares worth Rs 7.46 billion were traded in the market on Thursday.

The index of all the 13 sub-groups traded on Sunday has decreased. Today, the index of business, other, microfinance, production and processing and banking sub-groups has decreased by more than 1 percent. On the basis of the transaction on Sunday, the market capitalization stood at Rs 4610.94 billion.

RBB Mutual Fund 1 has seen the highest price increase among the companies traded today. Its unit price has increased by 7.93 percent.  On Sunday, the price of Upper Sangi Hydropower Company increased by 6.29 percent.

Nepal Reinsurance Company topped the list in terms of transaction amount on Sunday. Shares worth Rs 516.7 million of the company were traded on Sunday. Shares worth Rs 354.5 million of Himalayan Reinsurance Company and Rs 249.6 million of Nepal Republic Media were traded on Sunday.
