Muglin-Pokhara road section extended for fourth time

Damauli. The deadline for the Muglin Pokhara Road Project (Eastern Section) has been extended for the fourth time. The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport has extended the deadline from Jamune to Anbukhaireni of Tanahun for the fourth time.

According to Bishnu Prasad Pandey, engineer of Muglin-Pokhara Road Project (Eastern Section), the deadline has been extended till October 15. The deadline for the third extension of this section had expired on July 15.

The four-lane blacktopping of the 41.5-km stretch from Abukhaireni to Jamuna in the eastern section has already been completed. A recommendation was made to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure for some extension as some other works were pending except blacktopping.

“All the blacktopping works have been completed, six-lane roads have been blacktopped in Damauli Bazaar and four-lane roads in other places,” he said. In most of the places, the road has also been completed. Now we had sent some time for extension as there was little work left. ’

According to him, the blacktopping work has been completed in the last three years and the last 456 days of signing the agreement. The work on the eastern section was started from April 15, 2018 after signing an agreement on January 1, 2017.

China Communication Construction has bagged the contract for the project. The four-lane road was constructed with the help of a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) as the number of vehicles on the road, which was drawn in 2026 BS, increased. The contract for the eastern section has been awarded at a cost of Rs 6.21 billion.
