Bagmati. The Food Technology and Quality Control Office has filed cases against 43 industries in Bara and Parsa on the charge of producing and selling substandard food items.
In the fiscal year 2081/82 BS, a case has been filed against 43 businessmen of Bara and Parsa at the District Court and District Administration Office. According to Office Chief Suresh Kumar Singh, a case has been filed against five businessmen at the District Court Bara and one against one at the District Court, Parsa under the Food Hygiene and Quality Act.
In the last fiscal year 2081/82 BS, the office had filed a case against 26 people from Bara at the District Administration Office, Bara and two traders from Parsa at the District Administration Office, Parsa.
Cases have been filed against 24 industries producing oil and ghee products, five for edibles, pulses and its products, two for fruits and vegetables, one for confectionery, five for sugary products, four for milk and milk products and two for grain products.
According to the Office, 56 hotels and restaurants and eight haat bazaar fair festivals were monitored in the fiscal year 2081÷82 BS for food hygiene. Expired, label details, rotten and non-food items were seized during the inspection.
