Rastra Bank revises CSR guidance, tokyo faculty for fellowship and research! (full text)

Kathmandu. Kathmandu: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has made the first amendment to the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Guidelines of Banks and Financial Institutions, 2081 BS. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued csr guidelines 2082 bs by making the first amendment.

In the revised guidelines TAG_OPEN_div_18, the Rastra Bank has directed to provide fellowship and research grants by assigning faculty to CSR in the education sector. According to the guidelines issued by the Rastra Bank, students from poor and low-income families studying in economics, law and management faculties in universities and colleges will be given fellowship and research grant for research, research work under postgraduate, MPhil, PhD studies on the basis of recommendation of the respective universities and colleges.

Similarly, banks and financial institution TAG_OPEN_div_16 s should focus on the reconstruction of government÷community school buildings in areas dominated by the poor and disadvantaged people affected by natural disasters, including earthquakes, while spending CSR money in the education sector.  Banks and financial institutions will also have to spend their CAR money on school uniforms, educational materials, etc. provided to encourage students from poor and low-income families studying in government and community schools.

Similarly, the Rastra Bank has made provisions for banks and financial institutions to support the expenses incurred on free cataract surgery camps and other health camps for the people of low-income communities in the health sector, and also to support the expenses incurred in providing nutritious food to children with hunger, malnutrition, autism, pregnant and lactating women in the poor, poor and backward communities.
