Baglung. A total of 705 animals belonging to dairy farmers have been insured.
Deepak Gautam, president of the District Cooperative Association, informed that 705 animals belonging to baglung municipality, Kathekhola rural municipality and Jaimini municipality have been insured.
A total of Rs 2,422,500 was deposited in the Livestock Protection Sub-Committee last year, including Rs 484,500 as insurance premium from farmers and Rs 1.938 million as grant from the state. According to him, Rs 7.88 million has been collected in the livestock protection programme in the current fiscal year.
The association has been collecting, processing and marketing 3,500 litres of milk daily to more than 1,500 farmers of 15 milk collection cooperatives for the last 24 years.
