Kathmandu. Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak said the government was ready to solve the problems seen in the construction business sector. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the 28th General Assembly and 15th Session of the Construction Entrepreneurs Association Kanchanpur on Friday, Home Minister Lekhak stressed the need for the government and the construction business sector to work together for development.
“The capacity of government agencies has not been fully increased. Home Minister Lekhak said, “The foundation of nation building can be prepared only if the capacity of the institutions related to government and non-government construction is increased.” Stating that the cost of the projects is increasing due to lack of timely completion of development works, he said the contractors should carry out quality works on time.
“Construction workers should complete quality works on time and the government will make arrangements for peace and security. Minister Lekhak said, “The government is engaged in resolving the problems seen in the construction business sector. There is no unrest in any public work. He said the government could not tolerate activities like extortion and intimidation for development works across the country.
He said that the problem of lack of quality work in the construction business sector in the recent past and the lack of timely work should be solved. “Quality is required in physical infrastructure works, if quality work is not done, then the state’s finances will be misused. Home Minister Lekhak said, “The cost of the project has increased due to lack of timely completion. He clarified that it was not only the builders who were involved in it.
The author said that the capacity of national construction should be increased. He said that all the agencies working in the field of development construction and physical construction should do well. Similarly, he said the priority of the present government was to expedite development works by bringing policy and legal reforms, good governance and ending impunity.
He said that the present government is working with the aim of bringing the economy back on track. “The pre-condition of all this is a stable government, so the two big parties have formed a stable government,” he said. The present government is working on policy and legal reforms with priority. He also urged the construction entrepreneurs to carry out development works without any fear. According to him, the present government has paid Rs 35 billion to the construction entrepreneurs in the last fiscal year.
