Kailali. Dhangadhi: A suspension bridge has been constructed over the Mohana River on the border of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-13 and Rajghat of Krishnapur Municipality-9 of Kanchanpur. With the construction of the suspension bridge, it has become easier for the Mohana river to flow.

Both the places are separated by the Mohana River. Before the construction of the bridge, the locals of Rajghat had problems in moving the river for a long time. Rajghat is closer to Dhangadhi Bazaar in Kailali than the district headquarters in terms of distance. They have to go to Dhangadhi for most of the work. Therefore, a suspension bridge on the Mohana river became very necessary.

Sharda Devi Chaudhary, a local and former ward member of Rajghat of Krishnapur municipality-9, said that with the construction of the suspension bridge, it has become easier to move around. “We have to go to Dhangadhi for every work from medical treatment,” he said, adding that before the bridge was constructed, we used to go to Dhangadhi through the long-distance arduous route through Ward No. 8 Majgai.

Padam BK, a local, said that after the construction of the bridge, it has become easier for all the work from shopping for household items. Rekha Chaudhary, a local, said the villagers have been facing problems due to the varkhama river.

Krishnapur Municipality of Kanchanpur had awarded a contract worth Rs 8.09 million in the fiscal year 2078÷79 BS for the construction of the suspension bridge, said engineer Bishnu Joshi. The bridge has been constructed in partnership with the consumer committee and the construction company.
