Gulmi. The construction of a bridge over the Panaha River has eased the mobility of the people of the district. The bridge has been constructed at the confluence of Resunga municipality-4 and Isma rural municipality-2 at a cost of Rs 50 million.

The concrete bridge constructed over the Panaha River after a long wait has made it easier for the people of both the rural municipalities to commute. Earlier, people were compelled to travel risky in the area for many years in lack of cemented bridges.

Purna Bahadur Shrestha, a local, said that the construction of the bridge has made it easier to travel to the district headquarters Tamghas in the morning and evening. The bridge was constructed at a cost of Rs 50.6 million by the Road Division Office, Palpa. The bridge is 35 meters long and 11 meters wide.

With this, people from Resunga Municipality-4 to Palukha of Isma and Jaisithok of Dhurkot have been directly benefited. Kamala Panthi, a local, said that the municipality has made it easier for cattle to be transported to the market, agricultural produce produced in the village to market, operation of vehicles and transportation of children to schools.

Tanka Prasad Shrestha, a local, said that people had to travel for one and a half hours to reach the place during the rainy season due to lack of a concrete bridge over the river. “Now that the bridge has been constructed has made it very easy for all, the fear of being swept away while crossing the river during the rainy season has been removed,” he said.

While taking vehicles in the river, there was a problem of taking risks first and in some cases the vehicles were swept away. Now, with the construction of the bridge, the people are happy that the risk has been averted. The bridge over the Panaha River has been completed four years after the Mahadev Khimti Shrestha Construction Pvt Ltd started its construction.
