Shops targeted at Dashain-Tihar open (Photo Feature)

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — The government has opened the Dashain and Tihar discount shops from today. The fair price shop has been opened from the provincial office of the Food Management and Trading Company at Thapathali.

This year, however, the company has started selling and distributing without any fanfare.

Currently, 51 types of food items are on sale from the provincial office at Thapathali, said chief Dharma Kumari Rajbanshi. Spices are also on sale this year, she said.

The government has given a discount of Rs 5 per kg on rice, wheat, lentils and peas and Rs 5 per kg on sugar. Similarly, the government has given discount of up to Rs 7 per kg on beaten rice, flour, flour, coriander and spices.

The government has provided discount of Rs 10 per kg on beans, buckwheat, sugarcane, cashew, marsi and basmati.

Rajbanshi said that the sale of Ramshah Path, Nakkhu and Dakshinkali sales outlets has been started under this office.
