Rasuwa. KATHMANDU: The under-construction ‘Bailey Bridge’ over the Lhende River along the Nepal-China border is to be completed before this Dashain.
According to Border Guard at Rasuwagadhi, the construction of the bailey bridge linking Nepal and China has been given priority by the Chinese side in a speedy manner.
The Chinese side, which has already completed the construction of the bridge on its side, completed the slope of the ground to place the pillars on the Nepal side as well. Only a few days ago, the company had brought the equipment to dig the foundation to ease the movement by installing a snow pipe in the Lhende River.
Transportation of construction materials has been hampered after the water started flowing higher than the snow pipe laid in the river following the incessant rains, said the field supervisor.
Rajesh Panthi, Chief District Officer of Rasuwa, said although the construction of the Miteri Bridge at Rasuwagadhi, which is closest to the federal capital was affected due to the rainfall, the construction of the bridge is expected to ease the movement towards China before the Dashain festival.
