Agitation has caused huge loss in automobile sector: Minister Khanal

Kathmandu. A delegation led by NADA President Karan Chaudhary held a meeting with Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal to discuss the current situation of the country.

During the discussion, Finance Minister Khanal said that appropriate steps would be taken after collecting the data of the loss and diabese caused by the agitation by considering the suggestions put forth by the entrepreneurs.

Minister Khanal said that facilities that can be provided by banks and finance will be provided and the government will take necessary steps to provide tax facilities.

During the discussion, Minister Khanal said that the agitation has caused huge loss in the automobile sector and he would be in direct contact with the entrepreneurs. He said that many suggestions regarding tax were received in the discussion and it would be discussed in the cabinet.

During the group meeting with entrepreneurs, Chairman Chaudhary said that the government should take concrete steps for the upliftment of the entrepreneurs, saying security of the general public and peace and tranquility of the country were the most important issues.

Stating that the country’s economy is deteriorating, he said that the government should bring policies that boost the morale of entrepreneurs. During the discussions, Chairman Chaudhary said that the investors are not in a position to invest in Nepal, there should be insurance disbursement for the loss and damage caused by vandalism, the implementation of Nepal Vehicle Pollution Standard 2082 will increase the price of vehicles, adding that Nepal’s automobile sector has contributed 27 percent to the customs revenue and the government is aware of the weaknesses and weaknesses of NADA. During the discussion, Chairman Chaudhary said that NADA wants to move ahead in collaboration with the government.

During the meeting, Chairman Chaudhary also presented a 22-point suggestion on behalf of NADA, urging the government to improve the policies needed to make Nepal’s automobile business dynamic. During the discussion, it was also suggested that the limit of loan-to-value ratio should be increased from 60 percent to 80 percent in the process of issuing higher purchase loans from banks, especially to petrol and diesel vehicles.

Finance Secretary Ghanashyam Upadhyay said that the government would soon bring an incentive package for the transport entrepreneurs as vehicles could not be allowed to enter Nepal from Tatopani Customs Office due to the bad condition of the road. Likewise, discussions would be held with the Ministry of Forest and Environment regarding the effects of the implementation of the Nepal Vehicle Pollution Standard-2082.
