Kathmandu. An insurance claim of Rs 1.13 billion has been received from the vandalism and arson that took place in different parts of Gandaki province during the Genji agitation on September 7 and 24.
According to the Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) Gandaki Province office, 159 insurance claims have been received from 12 companies till September 12. According to NEA, the highest number of claims have been made by Himalayan Everest Insurance. The company has received an insurance claim of Rs 500 million for nine insurances. This is the highest.
Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance is the second highest insurance company with the highest number of insurance claims. The company has received a claim of Rs 350 million for 50 insurances. The government-owned National Insurance Company has received a claim of Rs 70 million for 20 insurances.
Siddhartha Premier Insurance has received a claim of Rs 5 crore for 15 insurances. Neco Insurance has received a claim of Rs 4.45 crore for 16 insurance.
Oriental Insurance has claimed Rs 30 million for 13 policies, IGI Prudential Insurance Rs 3.15 crore for three insurance policies and Sanima GIC Insurance has claimed Rs 20 million for 11 policies.
Similarly, United Ajod Insurance has claimed for Rs 20 million for 6 insurance, Shikhar Insurance for 5 insurance covers Rs 7.5 million, NLG Insurance has claimed Rs 80 lakh for 6 insurance and Nepal Micro Insurance has collected Rs 2.5 million for 5 insurance.
According to NEA, Nepal Insurance, National Insurance, Prabhu Insurance, Protective Micro Insurance, Star Micro Insurance, and Trust Micro Insurance have not received any claim for their insurance.
