Quality Control Office, Hetauda files case against 4 entrepreneurs for producing substandard food

Bagmati. The Office of Food Technology and Quality Control in Hetauda has filed a case against four entrepreneurs.

The case against the four entrepreneurs was filed on the basis of the investigation of the samples collected from the office and its subordinate divisions.

Office Chief Bimala Pokharel said the case was filed against three entrepreneurs from Makwanpur and one from Sindhuli under the Food Hygiene and Quality Act.

Chief Pokharel further said that case has been filed against two persons at the District Administration Office, Makawanpur, one at the District Administration Office, Sindhuli and one against the Makawanpur District Court.

A case has been filed against the entrepreneurs involved in adulteration and selling expired goods in course of testing the samples collected during the monitoring. A total of 2,082 samples were collected from different industries for testing, Pokharel said.

During the monitoring, inspection and implementation of the verdict by the judicial body, goods worth Rs 995,000 were confiscated and destroyed in the presence of the stakeholders.
