Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Office of Financial Comptroller General (OFCG) has launched interconnectivity in the international payment system from Thursday.
Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal and Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal jointly launched the card payment system.
With the introduction of interconnection of the International Card Network in the Revenue Management Information System, the revenue payment process will be easier for the service recipients residing abroad and tourists coming to Nepal.
It will be able to provide paperless and employee service and will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a day. Revenue collection is expected to be fast, transparent, internationally accessible and customer friendly.
The payment system can be made using MasterCard, Visa Card, Alipay and other cards. Tourists entering from Tribhuvan International Airport have started availing this service in a smooth manner.
Although this service has been started for the purpose of immigration revenue payment from the Department of Immigration and its subordinate bodies, it will be extended to other agencies of the Government of Nepal in the coming days.
