Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — Tourist buses have opened advance ticket booking for tourists going to tourist destinations targeting the Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festivals. KATHMANDU: The Tourist Bus Association of Nepal (TWON) has opened advance ticket booking for domestic and foreign tourists during the festive season.
TWON’s President Bhishma Neupane said the ticket booking in advance has been opened for the convenience of the passengers going to the tourist destinations like Kathmandu, Pokhara, Sauraha, among others. He said that the bus ticket can be purchased through online channels including Khalti and eSewa.
Currently, more than 200 buses have been operating from Kathmandu’s Sorhakhutte road to various tourist destinations in Nepal.
Similarly, most of the air tickets for domestic flights have been sold for Dashain. Sudarshan Bartaula, spokesperson of Yeti Airlines, the leading airline of the aviation sector, said that more than 70 percent of the tickets have been sold so far. “Most of the passengers are holding air tickets,” he said.
Similarly, transport entrepreneurs have decided not to open advance ticket booking for Dashain this year. Bijay Bahadur Swar, president of the Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs, said that ticket booking has not been opened in advance as most of the passengers have gone home due to the closure of the campuses due to the demonstration by Genji.
Chairman Swar urged the passengers to book tickets in advance as the system of booking tickets five days in advance is still in place. He said that ticket booking has not been opened in advance for Dashain.
KATHMANDU: The government has set up help desks at 15 places in Kathmandu Valley targeting the Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festivals. Chief of Kathmandu Valley Police Office Additional Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki inaugurated the help desk on Thursday.
