Festival-friendly shops open in 42 places in Karnali

Cockre. A total of 42 fair price shops have been brought into operation in Karnali Province targeting the festivals. Keshav Raj Budha, chief of the provincial office of the Food Management and Trade Company, said that the fair price shops were brought into operation from September 13 to November 26 targeting the Dashain and Tihar festivals.

A discount of five rupees per kg has been given on subsidized rice and sugar. The price of petroleum products has been reduced by Rs 7 per litre. The sale and distribution of subsidized food items has started from 18 places since Monday. On Monday, fair price shops opened in Dunai, Jufal, Sarmi of Mudkechula, Manma, Padamghat, Khallagad, Jajarkot headquarters, Nayakwada and Ghogi.

Likewise, the district headquarters of Mugu has come into operation in Gamgadhi, Srikot and Sorukot from today. Musikot, the district headquarters of Rukum (West), Srinagar and Sarkegad of Humla district have been started. The sale has started in Khalanga, Dailekh and Surkhet headquarters. The sale has begun in 18 depots and branches as well as 24 local units.

The Food Management and Trading Company Limited has 12,000 quintals of rice, 124 quintals sugar and 26,000 litres oil in stock. Currently, Aruwa Mota Rice, Aruwa Mota FR, Aruwa Sona Mansuli, Aruwa Mansuli FR, Steam Jeera Masino FR, Steam Jeera Masino FR, Sunflower Oil, Soyabean Oil, Mustard Oil and Sugar are being sold.
