Dharan sub-metropolis presents budget of Rs 2.20 billion

Dharan. Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City has unveiled its policy and programme and budget for the fiscal year 2082/83. In the 17th municipal assembly today, Deputy Mayor of Dharan Aindra Bikram Begha presented a budget of Rs 2.20 billion for the fiscal year 2082/83.

The source of the budget is estimated to be Rs 805.3 million from internal revenue, Rs 892.9 million from the federal government, Rs 77.34 million from the provincial government, Rs 34.18 crore from revenue allocation, Rs 20 million from the road board and Rs 70 million from last year’s stockpile.

A total of Rs 669.94 million has been allocated for urban planning and physical infrastructure, Rs 468.85 million for education, youth and sports, Rs 69.99 million for health and Rs 48.64 million for social development.

Similarly, Rs 12.9 million has been allocated for economic development, Rs 27.4 million for forest, environment, energy and disaster management, Rs 20 lakh for law and justice, Rs 1.5 million for public land conservation, Rs 43 lakh for revenue mobilization and Rs 50.5 million for town vision programme. The government has allocated Rs 210 million for 20 wards of Dharan in the current fiscal year.

Similarly, Rs 1.31 billion has been allocated for the municipal executive, Rs 605.67 million from conditional grant, Rs 18.2 million from supplementary budget and Rs 54.3 million from special grant. The municipality has prioritized education, health, infrastructure, agriculture, social development and disaster management, according to deputy mayor Begha.
