Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has decided to suspend the calculation of average 15 minutes from Tuesday. The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has sent a letter to NEPSE to suspend the procedure.

Investors have been calling for the removal of this method in recent years. A meeting of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) held on Saturday had decided to postpone the rule.

“As per the directive received pursuant to sub-section (1) of Section 87 of the Securities Related Securities Act 2063 vide letter dated 2082/6/4, the weighted average price of the price maintained in the session as referred to in Sub-rule (1) Clause (b) of the Securities Trading Operation Bye-laws (4th Amendment) 2081 shall be deemed to be the final transaction price. If there is no transaction during this period, the last transaction value will be considered as the final value,” said Murhari Parajuli, spokesperson of NEPSE.

He said that the changed system will be technically examined today and it will be implemented from the next business day as Monday is a public holiday.
