Damage to electrical equipment of Inland Revenue Office

Birgunj. The vandalism and arson during the Jenji agitation has damaged computers and other electronic gadgets worth one crore rupees apart from the building of the Inland Revenue Office, Birgunj.

Various rooms of the Inland Revenue Office have also been damaged due to the fire that took place on September 24. Information Officer at the Inland Revenue Office, Rameshwor Kumar Mishra, informed that a preliminary estimate has been that computers and other electronic gadgets worth around one crore rupees were damaged during the protest.

“The tax collection section has also suffered the most damage”, he said, adding, “Computers, printers and other electrical equipment of the office have been burnt in the fire and also looted.” According to the office, most of the structures on the ground floor of the building have been damaged. One of the rooms was destroyed in the fire.
