Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Merchant Banking Association of Nepal (MBA) has concluded its 16th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday.
Although it was supposed to be held in Pokhara, it was shifted to Kathmandu to ensure the safety and participation of all the members in view of the recent situation in the country. The AEM, which was successfully held on September 18 at Alft Hotel, Kathmandu, was attended by representatives and members of all MBAN merchant banking institutions.
The meeting reviewed MBAN’s activities and achievements for the fiscal year 2081/82 and approved the annual program and budget for the fiscal year 2082/83. MBAN has pledged to promote professionalism and sustainable growth in Nepal’s merchant banking business.
Current issues, challenges and future strategic plans in Nepal’s merchant banking business were discussed. The meeting has amended the name of the Association and other necessary amendments. Policy issues to strengthen the role of merchant banks in the capital market were also discussed in the program.
