Kathmandu. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Urban Development Kul Man Ghising and British Ambassador to Nepal Rob Fenn held a meeting today.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation at Singha Durbar, Ambassador Fenn extended congratulations to the newly-appointed Minister Ghising and wished him a successful tenure.
Matters relating to Nepal-UK friendship and collaboration, UK support in the energy sector, possibilities of investment in the infrastructure sector and necessary support for mitigating the problems stemming from climate change were discussed in the meeting.
On the occasion, Minister Ghising said that the main priority of the government formed after the Genji movement was to reconstruct the structures damaged by the agitation, hold general elections and maintain good governance.
Appreciating the support provided by Nepal’s old friend Britain in Nepal’s economic development, he said that the support being provided for the installation of charging stations to increase the use of electric vehicles to decarbonize Nepal has been effective.
She also urged the Chinese side to adopt the investment model in Nepal as well as the public-private partnership investment model which is considered successful in infrastructure development in the UK, as well as in the areas of green hydrogen and risk study of glacial lake outburst due to climate change. Stating that Nepal’s success is an old friendship between Nepal and the United Kingdom, Ambassador Fenn pledged to support Nepal’s economic transformation.
