Kathmandu. The stock market is in the red. The index, which measures the market, decreased by 27.89 points to sit at 2,654.35 points.

A total of 9,408,663 units of shares of 317 companies worth Rs 4,124,48,21,863 were traded during the transaction.

The prices of 53 companies increased while the prices of 193 companies declined. Except for hotels, all the sub-indices declined. Share prices of Upper Mailung Khola Hydropower Company, City Hotel and Himstar Energy Ltd were in the positive circuit today.

On the basis of transaction volume, Union Hydropower Company Ltd is in the top position. The company’s shares worth Rs 22,13,86,841 were traded in the transaction.

Nepal Reinsurance and Himalayan Reinsurance are in the second and third positions.
