Kathmandu. Employees of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) have been staging a strike for the third day today. The employees, who have been on strike since Tuesday, continued their agitation on Thursday.

The employees of Sebon have protested against the decision of the Ministry of Finance. Due to the letter sent by the Ministry of Finance on September 2, all the employees of the Securities Board of Nepal have been agitated together. The agitating employees have also affected the work of the board since Tuesday.

The agitating employees have called for maintaining the autonomy of the board, revoking the illegal order, ending the psychological terror of the employees and ensuring an environment conducive to reduce the fear of the employees.

An employee said that they were compelled to come to the protest after the decision of the Revenue Secretary level on September 14 to reduce the perks of the employees and return the facilities enjoyed by the previous employees.

The agitating employees have taken control of the vehicles of the board’s chairman Santosh Narayan Shrestha, all executive directors and other high-ranking officials. They have also urged the leadership to resolve the problem on time. Otherwise, they have been demanding his resignation from the post. The agitating employees have also demanded that the letter sent by the ministry be revoked.
