Bhojpur. Bhojpur, Feb. 14: The construction of ‘one house, one tap’ at Khoksik, Ram Prasad Rai rural municipality-8 in Bhojpur district has reached the final stage. The project has been launched with the objective of increasing the easy access of clean water to the locals.
With the installation of water taps through the construction and repair projects of the ward, the problem of locals spending hours to collect water has ended. The ward has allocated a budget of about Rs 15 lakh and after the renovation of old sources and new projects, the locals have easily connected to the water supply.
Ward chair Bach Kumar Rai said that the work being carried out for a long-term solution to the problem of drinking water in the area has reached the final stage. According to him, the decades-old water problem has come to an end with the repair of many old water tanks. Ward Chair Rai said that the drinking water projects constructed here are 30÷32 years old and the conservation work has been carried out to distribute water to the locals in an easy manner.
“We are also carrying out maintenance of dilapidated drinking water projects,” he said, adding, “There is a problem of water distribution as the old projects are very old.” We have been working to create an environment for the locals to drink water easily. ’
As Khoksik is a drought-hit area, the ward has been working by prioritizing drinking water, electricity and agriculture. Likewise, repair of old water tanks and search for new sources of drinking water have been continued, according to the ward office.
