Kathmandu. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Kul Man Ghising has directed the government agencies to make the electricity system reliable, qualitative, safe and customer friendly. Minister Ghising has directed the concerned officials to address the demands of the general public with short-term, mid-term and long-term policies and programmes, saying complaints have been received from various parts of the country regarding problem in electricity supply.
Former Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Ghising stressed the need of immediately carrying out repairs of infrastructures damaged by floods and landslides and called for the operation of electricity service. There should be no delay in bringing policies and programs in a planned manner. ’
On the occasion, Minister Khatiwada inspected the power centre at Syuchatar of Kathmandu and took stock of the situation of power generation, transmission and distribution system of the country, grid operation, demand and supply management, electricity export, and various other issues.
Similarly, NEA Managing Director Manoj Silwal briefed about generation, demand, supply, export, the condition of the system operation and other issues.
Managing Director Silwal said that a team with technical human resources has been kept in ready position to repair the structures damaged by floods and landslides and the NEA family is committed to resolving the problems of the general public and service seekers by utilizing the resources in a frugal manner.
