Rasuwa. Repair of the Syaphrubes-Rasuwagadhi road section, which was damaged by incessant rainfall on October 1, has begun.

Excavators of Gosainkunda rural municipality and dozers of Department of Roads have been used for road repair. Landslides have damaged more than 20 places along the 16-kilometer road from Yangyang to Rasuwagadhi. Chief of the Galchhi-Trishuli-Mailung-Syafrubesi Road Improvement Project Krishna Nath Ojha said that the Department of Roads and the rural municipality have jointly started repairing the road.

Gosainkunda Rural Municipality has stated that the repair cost will be borne by its own bodies. The highway was repaired and brought into operation recently after it was damaged by floods and landslides in June and July. This is the third time floods and landslides have disrupted.

The construction of the Miteri bridge over the Lhende River is going on in full swing. It is expected that the bailey bridge will be ready by Tihar. The border point between the two countries was closed after the Miteri Bridge was swept away by the floods on July 24.
