The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against Bhandari on the charge of embezzling Rs 120,07,60,946. The CIAA investigation had found that there was a scam in the purchase of MRI machines.
The corruption case has also been filed against the then acting registrar of Rapti Academy of Health Sciences, Jhankar Lamichhane, then finance manager Kailash Prasad Dev, biomedical engineer Sharad Bhandari, Kathmandu-based biomedical engineer Amit Kumar Chaudhary and deputy finance manager Nitin Kurmi.TAG_OPEN_div_8
