Kathmandu. Work is underway along the Chaukidanda road section along the BP Highway, which was damaged by the flood in the Roshi River due to incessant rainfall on October 3 and 19.

The BP Highway has been completely closed this year after the diversion was constructed on the road damaged by the floods of September 24 and 12 last year.

Janak Bhatta, a representative of Nabakantipur Joint Venture, informed that the construction of Dapcha bridge, Charsaibesi and Katunje ghumane section of the highway has been completed.

Similarly, the diversion road from Gimdibesi to Dallabesi under package 2 of the highway will be completed today itself, according to the Division Road Office, Bhaktapur.

According to the Division Road Bhaktapur, the construction of the diversion road from dry landslide to Mamti under Package 3 will be completed by tomorrow and the highway will come into full operation after that.

Now, the situation is that they have to take risk in the Chaukidanda area of the highway and reach their destination by walking through the wall. There is some difficulty in carrying out the work as the flow of water in the river remains constant ।
