Sankhuwasabha SANKHUWASABHA: The construction of houses for landslide victims at Bhaire cliff of Khandbari municipality-7 in Sankhuwasabha district has reached the final stage.
A total of 55 families of Silichong Rural Municipality-1, Besinda are reconstructing their houses at Bhaire Danda of Khandbari Municipality-7. The construction of a house for 55 families at Bhaire Danda of Khandbari-7 in Silichong-1 has reached the final stage.
Chief District Officer Srijana Thapaliya said that the construction of the houses of the landslide victims would be completed soon and handed over to the victims.
Assistant Chief District Officer Mohanmani Ghimire informed that the construction of houses for the landslide survivors began some two years ago has come to a final stage. The construction of houses for 55 families displaced by the landslide at Bhaire Danda of Khandbari-7 has been completed so far.
The construction of houses has gained momentum after 55 families of Besinda received the second tranche of house construction after a long time. For this, the federal government had decided to provide 60 percent grant. The government had fixed Rs 500,000 for the construction of the house. Rs 550,000 for the construction of the house will be paid in three installments as per the evaluation of the technicians. The federal government will provide 60 per cent of the budget, the provincial government 30 per cent and the local government 10 per cent for the landslide victims.
A total of 69 ropanis of land was purchased for 55 families in Bhaire hill for Rs 13 million. As many as 11 people had gone missing when a landslide swept away nine houses at Silichong-1, Besinda.
