Kathmandu. Dashain is over. Tihar, the second biggest festival of Nepalis, has been celebrated. With the festival approaching, the locals of Bhaktapur Talaq are busy making mud pots.
They are seen busy as the demand for earthen lamps and tents is high during the festival as compared to other days.
Binod Kumar Prajapati, a local, said that the demand for clay leaves is higher during Tihar as lamps are lit in every house during the Tihar festival. He said that although the sale and distribution of various electronic lamps are increasing in the market today, the demand for clay lamps is also the same.
According to him, there is a demand for shifts during Tihar from various places including Kathmandu and Lalitpur and they make shifts accordingly. He said that the wholesale price varies from two rupees to two rupees and two and a half rupees and the price of the shift varies according to the quality.
