Floods and landslides: Koshi govt to cut budget by 25 per cent for reconstruction

Biratnagar. The Koshi Province government has decided to cut the budget for the current fiscal year by 25 percent.

The cabinet meeting of the Koshi Province government today decided to cut the budget by 25 percent. Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Koshi Province, Rewati Raman Bhandari, said that the decision was taken to withhold 25 percent of the budget.

Minister Bhandari said that the budget has been decided to be spent for the reconstruction of the offices damaged by the vandalism and arson during the Genji demonstration on September 7 and 24 and the damage caused by floods and landslides a few days ago.

Similarly, the meeting has deputed Milan Acharya as secretary at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development and Indra Sapkota as secretary for the Ministry of Tourism, Forest and Environment.
