Chitwan. Chitwan: The Chitwan Milk Industry, which was closed due to lack of milk, has reopened after the dairy and cooperatives brought milk. The factory, which had been closed since the last week of June, has now resumed operation after the arrival of milk.

According to the manager of the industry, Durga Parajuli, the industry had come into operation only for two days last June but has come into operation from the third week of September. Now, up to one lakh liters of milk is being supplied daily. “Around 80,000 litres of milk is being supplied daily. ’

The dairy and cooperatives did not bring milk for processing, so the industry itself was preparing to buy milk and operate it. At that time, the industry could not operate due to shortage of milk everywhere.

According to Parajuli, the industry has been operating as usual since this month except for the Dashain holidays. When the milk collected from the farmers is not sold, the dairies and cooperatives bring it here and process it. The factory produces powdered milk and butter.

Parajuli said milk has started being imported from Chitwan, Makawanpur, Nawalparasi and Rupandehi among other districts. The dairy and cooperatives have taken away the butter, ghee and powder milk stored here after they failed to sell last year. All the places in the industry were filled with butter and powdered milk after the processed products were not taken away by the concerned organisations.

The industry is located at Thimura of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-1. The industry has been processing milk since 2075 BS by charging a fee from dairy and cooperatives. The mill has been processing milk at Rs 113 per litre and butter at Rs 55 per kg.

The industry established in 2064 BS had shut down after the 2072 BS earthquake. Parajuli said that before the closure, the industry itself had been purchasing milk, processing it and selling it in the market.
