Remittance inflow reaches Rs 3.52 trillion in two months

. There has been a significant improvement in the remittance inflow in the first 2 months of the current fiscal year. According to Nepal Rastra Bank, remittances worth Rs 352 billion have entered the country till mid-September of the current fiscal year. The remittance inflow has increased by 33.1 percent compared to the last fiscal year.

The remittance inflow had increased by 15.8 percent in the same period of the previous year.TAG_OPEN_div_10 The remittance inflow in the first six months of the current fiscal year stood at Rs 174.67 billion. The remittance inflow in the same period of the previous year had stood at Rs 127.99 billion.

In the review period, the remittance inflow in US Dollars increased by 27.6 percent to reach Rs 2.52 billion.TAG_OPEN_div_8 The remittance inflow had grown by 14.2 per cent the year before that. In the review period, net second income (net transfer) stood at Rs 384.88 billion. Such income had been Rs. 287.76 billion in the same period of the previous year.

In the review period, the number of Nepalis taking final labour permit (institutional and personal – new) for foreign employment is 90,198 and the number of those who have taken re-labour permit is 45,884.TAG_OPEN_div_6 Such numbers were 76,485 and 40,583 respectively in the corresponding period of the previous year.
